Today on International Women’s Day, I think of my mom and her quiet, persistent strength. Moving to the a new country, raising a kid (me), and earning her PhD in mathematics all at the same time--that’s just the beginning.
My mother’s determination to work hard, perservere, and succeed grew from her desire to create a life that she could be proud of--to take care of her family and lead her daughters by example. Her life is a testament to a woman’s strength--the strength to pull through and to do what is needed and what is right. To me, that is nothing short of incredible.
